  2. It’s worth mentioning that the SAP packing functionality and handling units concept has been enhanced from delivery-related handling units over to storage location-related handling units. The latter allow to manage mixed pallets in the warehouse and provide the ever missing link between delivery packing and WM storage units.

    Great article
    Cheers

  6. Hi TK,

Very nice information on Packing and HU’s.
I have an error in HU’s.

    1. In Inbound Delivery, if the Goods receipt is done, is it possible to display the Handling Units.

    2. Getting dump, if click Handling Unit tab. It is showing problem in HUMV4-BRGEW field.

    Please Help.

  9. Dear Sir

I am facing an error in shipment creation due to packing. When I pack my article in the delivery document, during shipment creation I face an error which says DIVISION BY ZERO Trapped.
What is wrong with my article?? The packaging article seems to have a fault as even if I just mention it w/o packing anything in it, the Shipment causes the same error.

    Please Reply.

    Thanks

  10. ABAP question:
We pack our pouches via VL02N. I need a Function Modul to pack one / more Pouches into a Box. This has to be done by hand hold terminal and I have to program it.
Any suggestion and pls. code example.
    Thanks a lot

  13. hello. may i know if there’s a different way of maintaining the packing instruction for purchased materials vs production materials?

production materials = there’s a packaging material + finished goods.
in PI, we use P as first line, R as 2nd line.

purchased materials = ready-packed finished goods (packaging material is part of FG)
in PI, how should we do this since we dont have the packaging material number (unless it should be registered in the system too separately like for production items?)
